We recently completed a full heating system upgrade in a three-bedroom house in Verwood, carried out under the
Boiler Upgrade Scheme (BUS Grant). The homeowner was looking for an environmentally friendly and energy-efficient alternative to their existing system, and the grant provided an excellent opportunity to opt for renewable heating.
Our fully-qualified
heating engineer installed a 5kW Vaillant aroTHERM air source heat pump, paired with a Vaillant Unistor 250L HP cylinder to handle the home's hot water demands. The system was retrofitted throughout the house, including the installation of five new radiators and associated pipework.
To maximise efficiency and user control, we fitted Vaillant sensoCOMFORT smart controls, which manage the property’s two heating zones: underfloor heating (UFCH) downstairs and radiators upstairs. The two zones ensure different areas of the house can be heated independently, based on usage and preference.
The installation was completed with minimal disruption to the customer and his family, thanks to careful planning. The new Air Source Heat Pump (ASHP) and system has not only improved energy performance but also significantly lowered the property's carbon footprint.
The BUS Grant can make renewable heating systems more accessible, enabling homeowners to use clean, efficient technology.
