A customer in Ferndown approached us seeking an efficient, modern heating solution that could be retrofitted into their property without causing major disruption. The requirement was to install underfloor heating with minimal floor height increase, ensure comfort and efficiency, while preserving the existing layout and door clearances.
We recommended a 20mm low-profile underfloor central heating (UFCH) system, ideal for retrofit projects such as this. First, the floors were levelled to create a smooth and even surface, then primed with a high-quality bonding agent. The low-profile UFCH panels were then securely fixed to the primed floor, providing a good base for the heating pipework.
A new
combi boiler installation integrated with the UFCH to provide both heating and hot water from a single, energy-efficient source. The system was then tested thoroughly for performance, uniform heat distribution, and long-term reliability. The result was a discreet heating solution with only a 20mm increase in floor height, eliminating the need for structural changes.
This project shows how a low-profile UFCH system, combined with a modern combi boiler, can transform an existing property into a warm, efficient living space without major upheaval.
